Harri Koskinen (b. 1970) relies on strict functionality and defines esthetics through just that. Koskinen innovates by finding new solutions and ways of working through both the user’s and the manufacturer’s viewpoints. Harri Koskinen often takes existing materials and techniques as his starting points, but then lets his designs evolve from that in an almost organic manner. This purity of form and cleanliness allows Koskinen’s designs to shine through and lets his work articulate itself in its own, quiet yet powerful way. Koskinen’s inspiration for this Brands Scandinavia product line came from winter in a Finnish forest. Wild creatures, big and small, leave their footprints in the snowy forest floor, each going about their business.
